DESCRIPTION:Oct 1-2\, 2026\nIn 1968\, Ringo Starr briefly quit the Beatles
and decamped to Sardinia\, where a boat captain explained how octopuses co
llect shells and stones to build little gardens on the seafloor. Starr lik
ed the idea of living under the sea peacefully\, and turned it into “Oct
opus’s Garden\,” one of only two songs he wrote for the band. Nearly 7
0 years into his career\, Starr has settled into a new chapter as a countr
y artist. This fall he comes to Forest Hills Stadium in support of Long Lo
ng Road\, released in April. It’s his 22nd studio album and his second w
ith the producer T Bone Burnett\, following last year’s chart-topping Lo
ok Up\, which earned Starr his first Grand Ole Opry appearance at 84. The
new record layers easy Americana over his classic-rock roots\, with guest
turns from Sheryl Crow\, Billy Strings\, and St. Vincent.
