St. Gallen, the quaint Swiss city that sits nestled between Lake Constance and the Appenzell Alps, is a beautiful place to take a stroll. In fact, the motif of walking—and the discoveries that take place while walking—serves as the basis for this exhibition, which is curated by Albert Kreimler, creative director of the city’s most iconic fashion brand: Akris. For the last 100 years, Akris has been the only Swiss fashion house to be a member of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. It is a company that stands for quality and innovation. To celebrate the centennial of Akris, this exhibition presents cutting-edge embroideries from the archives of Alice Kriemler-Schoch, the founder of Akris, and pairs them with the exquisite Akris fashions they inspired. —Elena Clavarino
