Thakoon Panichgul’s Favorite Things

A fashion polymath, Thakoon Panichgul has worked in production, edited at Harper’s Bazaar in the early 2000s, and designed Thakoon, his own C.F.D.A. award–nominated collection. Now his creative instincts are channeled into HommeGirls, a cult downtown magazine (its 12th volume is out next week) and fashion line, with an outpost coming soon to N.Y.C.’s Chinatown. Here, a few of his prized possessions

Tasaki

$2,678

Fine Links Pendant

“I created this over a decade ago for the Japanese pearl and fine jewelry brand Tasaki. The design and sentiment are so personal to me.”

Carhartt WIP

$93

Single-Knee Dearborn Jeans

“I really hate to think about pants when I get dressed, so these really work.”

Loewe

$53

Tomato Leaves Incense Sticks

“For incense, it’s fresh and unusual.”

Embryolisse

$29

Lait-Crème Concentré

“All-around great for everything 24 hours and 365 days of the year. The French pharmacy knows best.”

HommeGirls

$1,295

Leather Bomber Jacket

“I’ve never owned or worn leather until this jacket. It’s got slight padding inside, so it’s the perfect bomber for fall and winter.”

HommeGirls Magazine

$19

Volume 12

“Always on the coffee table and any table!”

Frédéric Malle

$410

Monsieur Parfum

“I love oud, and I love the balance of this scent and how it smells on my skin. Been using this forever.”

The North Face

$59

Men’s ThermoBall™ Traction Mules V

“Bought these many years ago for walking my dog. They’ve since become everyday in NYC.”

Il Buco Vita

$28

Collepino Twisted Beeswax Candle

“More beautiful than your standard.”

Andy Warhol

$50

Velvet Rage and Beauty

“A new and noteworthy book. Like the title, it’s a velvet rage and beauty.”

Tekla

$110

Striped Terry Bath Towel

“I love their quality and aesthetic. I have their sheets, and my girls at work bought me their striped down boot slippers for home, which are super decadent.”

Cartier

$11,600

Santos Automatic 18-Karat Gold Interchangeable Strap Watch

“My husband bought a vintage style of this for me in Paris. I don’t wear my wedding ring because I don’t like to wear rings, so this watch is like my wedding band.”
