My Favorite Things

After spending more than 20 years as a special correspondent for Vanity Fair—where she chronicled the rarefied style of the uppermost echelons—Amy Fine Collins is synonymous with high fashion. The AIR MAIL Editor at Large is no stranger to the inside of a fabulous boutique, but she’s particularly taken these days with Amazon, where her daughter, Flora Collins, is selling her new book, Nanny Dearest. “Otherwise, predictably,” says the author of her own opus, The International Best-Dressed List: The Official Story, “I would be happy to acquire black-and-white statement earrings, a caftan to wear at home or at the beach, eyeliner to stay put while I’m swimming, and, when I’m not, quantities of champagne—and a home laser, just in case it really works”
