My Favorite Things

Lucinda Chambers began her career in the 1970s selling handmade jewelry on Portobello Road. In 2018, following nearly four decades at British Vogue, the Notting Hill-born stylist and designer again struck out on her own with the launch of the clothing line Colville, followed by the digital shopping platform Collagerie. This month, the site will make its first foray into art with a collection of limited-edition prints, on view at London’s 8 Holland Street gallery until April 8. Here, Chambers shares more of her favorite discoveries for the home, wardrobe, and beyond

Wardrobe NYC

$1,500

Double-Breasted Merino Wool-Twill Coat

“It’s a big plus if you can identify ‘your color’—the one that suits you and you can return to again and again. Khaki is mine. It’s the same color as my eyes. A beautifully cut coat—chic, simple, and well made—is a friend for life.”

Paper Shoot

$135

Paper Camera, Old Lomo Black

“This is an eco-friendly digital camera. My whole career is about pictures, photography, and the image of something beautiful and meaningful. ”

Métier

$2,350

Large Incognito Cabas in White Sand and Cognac

“I’m never not looking for the perfect tote. This one pretty much ticks all my boxes. I think it’s the canvas with tan that I find irresistible.”

Brooklyn Bicycle Co.

$599.99

Franklin 8 Speed

“I have ridden around London since childhood. It’s such a great way to find secret streets and buildings—just when you thought you have seen it all… It never ceases to amaze me. This bike is the smartest thing.”

Tory Burch

$98

Roxanne Link Earring

“I don’t think I’ve ever gone out of the house without a pair of earrings on. These are beautiful day to night and would literally make a white T-shirt look great. ”

Smythson

$345

Multi-Zip Case in Panama

“I know myself and I have to be organized at all times. This is the most beautiful case to keep me and my papers together!”

David Sedaris

$17.66

The Best of Me

“After his first book came out, my family and I became rather obsessive about David Sedaris. My heart leaps when he does something new. He is brilliant, funny, observant, and tells it how it is—from his perspective—which is wonderful, as he notices so much and makes the ordinary extraordinary. ”

Natura Bissé

$65

The Dry Oil Fitness

“I love discovering brands that are new to me. As we emerge from winter, getting out those dry legs and giving them some TLC is a bit of a ritual. This oil is a total treat and lasts forever. ”

Cerasarda

$225

Corallo Rosso Large Round Tray

“I’m a big fan of TV dinners, which are always on a tray, so why not make it as uplifting as possible?”

Rimowa

$1,700

Check-In M Suitcase

“I love a suitcase that I can throw into the overhead myself and that can also pack five changes. This is a keeper—for life. ”

Poul Hundevad

$2,450

Vintage Teak Dining Chair Set

“No one chair matches in our home, and no style is the same. From Ikea to midcentury modern, nothing is off limits. These are very chic and would probably split them up! ”

Rick Owens

$270

+Converse TURBODRK Chuck 70 Zebra High-Top Sneakers

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Rick Owens and also Converse. I wear trainers and flats all the time, so I want some excitement from them!”
