My Favorite Things

After 15 years of contributing to Self Service and French Vanity Fair and Elle, the Parisian writer, editor, and stylist Christopher Niquet finally debuted his own publication, Study, last summer. True to its name, each issue is dedicated to a single, singular subject, from playwright Adrienne Kennedy to Chanel model Vivienne Rohner’s photography. This April, the periodical’s pages will explore the architecture of Dakar, Senegal. Below, Niquet reveals his highly considered objects of choice

Lamy

$27

Fountain Pen

“I was partial to my brown Faber-Castell pens until I noticed a couple of my friends using these Lamy fountain pens. I got mine last summer in Berlin and am now addicted. The dark navy ink is just the right shade.”

The Row

$2,950

Everett Wool-Blend Jacket

“I have been lusting over this jacket since it hit the stores. It’s part workman’s jacket, part Austrian Tracht. I wish I could live in The Row. ”

Study Magazine

Volume 02 On Adrienne Kennedy

Study’s second volume is dedicated to one of my heroes: playwright Adrienne Kennedy. Filled with texts, archival images, and art, it’s my way of saying thank you and sharing her vision with our readers.”

Frederic Malle

$205

Cafe Society Perfume Gun

“I have bought Frederic Malle’s perfume gun sprays since they were bottled in gray plastic, but I love the new white glass packaging even more. The aroma is perfect for eradicating any leftover party scent.”

Bang & Olufsen

$279

Beosound Portable Bluetooth Speaker

“Speakers are often unpleasant looking but, as is expected with Bang and Olufsen, this small portable one is just right. Perfect on a desk or for a day out.”

Ichizawa Hanpu

$224

Trunk Roll Top Tote Bag

“For years, friends have brought these tote bags back from their trips to Japan. I love the color and format, which is ideal for a laptop, books, notebooks, and magazines—and comes with a clever closure on top to protect all that’s inside.”

Museum of Modern Art

$41.85

Just Above Midtown: Changing Spaces

“I saw the Just Above Midtown show at MoMA over the holidays, and I can’t get it out of my head. Gallerist Linda Goode Bryant was such a visionary. This catalog really captures how she ushered new blood into the art world.”

Böhlmarks

$2,289

Harald Notini Art Deco Chandelier

“I recently moved to a new apartment in Paris and have been on the lookout for a light fixture for my living room. This Deco, Sputnik-like glass chandelier would look great floating above.”

Apple

$129

MagSafe Duo Charger

“No matter how organized I am, I always seem to be running out of battery. I need this great tool and just love its early 2000s Apple look.”

Brice Marden

Price Upon Request

Beyond Eagles Mere 2001

“I am a big admirer of Brice Marden’s work. I don’t believe I’d ever get tired of these dancing, primary-colored lines on a black ground. ”

Adrienne Kennedy

$41.85

Collected Plays & Other Writings

“Adrienne Kennedy’s collected writings, to be published in September, is already on my list. A well-deserved honor for this groundbreaking American icon.”

Sisley Paris

Sisleÿa L’Integral Anti-Age Serum

“Minimal but luxe packaging with some of the most effective ingredients, Sisley’s products are always top notch.”
