My Favorite Things

Upon graduating from Cambridge University with a degree in architecture, Benjamin Seidler joined the International Herald Tribune and traded floor plans for fashion illustrations, which quickly drew in the likes of Prada and Miu Miu. These days, when the Rome-raised Brit is not at home on the Upper West Side with his husband, Stuart Vevers, and two young children, he can be found at Chloé’s Paris headquarters, where he designs accessories alongside creative director Gabriela Hearst. Below, Seidler shares his favorite finds for his closet and beyond

Charvet

$450

Suede Slippers

“Ever since work-from-home became half the work week, I get more than enough use out of my Charvet slippers to justify investing in multiple fun colors. They’re one of the best gifts for men; my husband wears his a lot too.”

Macrene Actives

$195

High Performance Face Serum

“I started seeing Dr. Macrene Alexiades about a year ago, and I’ve never felt better in my skin. She does as much for my confidence as she does for my pores. Her products are just amazing and seem to work well with my pale, pinky complexion.”

La Coqueta

$66

Orlando Baby Boy Set

“Very few children’s clothes look as cute as those by La Coqueta, especially on little boys. I loved dressing my son in this outfit.”

Gabriela Hearst

$1,990

Men’s Lawrence Cashmere Sweater

“No one does cashmere like Gabriela Hearst, and this fuzzy sweater she’s been making in different colors every season is the coziest thing I’ve ever worn. I’m usually a thin-knit kind of guy, but this sweater converted me.”

Chloé

$1,220

Darcey Silk-Voile and Glass Necklace

“I design accessories with Gabriela Hearst and the team at Chloé, and we work with the most amazing artisans. The glass beads of this necklace are handblown by a master craftswoman in the French countryside. This piece has been a successful gift for friends of mine.”

Chloé

$580

Climate Success Ceramic Bowl

“We also work on handcrafted homeware at Chloé. Our French ceramics really brighten up a counter.”

Anya Hindmarch

$360

Be A Bag Washbag Small

“One of my first jobs was as a design assistant at Anya Hindmarch, and I love her bespoke offerings. I used to draw portraits of friends and get them embossed on pouches; lately, I’ve been putting photos of our kids on toiletry bags as gifts for family.”

Super Smalls

$39

Mermaid Pool Party Mega Set

“My daughter, Vivienne Pearl, is too young at almost three to wear my jewelry designs, but Super Smalls has adorable things for her in the meantime. She loves mermaids, so I’m sure this set would be a hit with her.”

Chanel

$149

No.19 Eau de Parfum

“A forever fragrance that has just become part of my identity. It’s green, not sweet, and clean.”

1st Dibs

$32,000

Vintage Rattan and Bamboo Dining Chairs, Set of Eight

“I love the designs of Gabriela Crespi. These chairs would be ideal around our dining room table in our newly renovated house on the Upper West Side.”

Hanya Yanagihara

$30.23

To Paradise

“Hanya Yanagihara is one of my favorite writers. Her last book was a tremendously exciting voyage into New York both real and imagined.”

Coach

$495

Tabby Shoulder Bag in Signature Denim

“My husband, Stuart, is the creative director of Coach, and I’m very excited about the gender-neutral world he’s created with the Tabby bag. I love this summer’s versions in denim and jelly!”
