In his first leading series role since Mad Men, Jon Hamm plays Andrew Cooper, a hedge fund manager whose life falls into shambles after his wife (Amanda Peet) cheats on him with his best friend (Mark Tallman) and he’s fired from his job. A far cry from Hamm’s suave Don Draper, “Coop” resorts to stealing expensive items from his wealthy suburban neighbors in order to maintain appearances in a world of country clubs, luxury cars, and Scotch. Coop is going to make a bunch of dicey decisions, among them his ill-planned heists, that ultimately bring him to where he is in the show’s opening scene: on the marble floor of a mansion, in a pool of blood that is not his own. —Paulina Prosnitz
