Wolfgang Tillmans

Feb 1 – May 31, 2020
Avenue Van Volxem 354, 1190 Forest, Belgium

“You can’t deny the superficial because the superficial is what meets the eye,” Wolfgang Tillmans said in 2011. “The content can never be disconnected from the surface.” Belgium’s first solo exhibition on the German photographer includes several never-before-shown images exploring themes central to Tillmans’s work, which takes “capturing the world we live in” to another level—or rather, many levels at once. —J.V.
