Throughout their famously devoted 21-year marriage, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert cultivated their shared love of watercolor paintings. Together they amassed thousands of delicate and colorful works. These paintings display scenes from their royal life—luscious pictures of the British court and foreign travel during an era marked by the steady expansion of the British Empire. Two hundred years after the births of Victoria and Albert (both were born in 1819), their private collection of watercolors has been organized into a traveling exhibition.
