As members of Parisian artistic circles in the early decades of the 20th century, the couple Arthur and Hedy Hahnloser-Bühler befriended the artists Pierre Bonnard, Henri Matisse, and Félix Vallotton. It was through passionate conversations with these men that the Hahnloser-Bühlers began to develop an eye for Impressionism, which led them to acquire the art of predecessors Cézanne, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Van Gogh. An impressive selection of 120 works. —E.C.
