The rebellious photographer Robert Giard was best known for his portraits of members of the LGBTQ+ community. He took pictures of writers and creatives, advocating for them during a time when they were often shunned. But many people don’t know that Giard’s practice extended way beyond portraiture. In an exhibition that showcases the lesser known aspects of his oeuvre, Giard’s striking landscape photographs, still lifes, and nudes are also on display. —E.C.
