In a time when anti-Semitism is rising around the world, the exhibition “The Renaissance Speaks Hebrew” hails a decisive period in the formation of Italian identity, one in which Jewish and Christian cultures were positively engaged. On exhibit are Renaissance biblical paintings with text in Hebrew, illuminated Hebrew manuscripts, Italy’s oldest wooden Holy Ark, and the 13th-century Torah Scroll of Biella. —L.J.
