The Light of Space

May 1, 2020 – Sept 20, 2021
665 W Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93534, United States

Edgar Allan Poe once said, “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” He was referring to the mysteries of perception, a topic which has been a point of contention among scientists, artists, and philosophers. In this virtual exhibition, a group of 21st-century artists are brought together to prove just how subjective vision can be. They each distort time and light in different artistic experiments, suggesting that what we see is neither concrete, nor conclusive, but personal and arbitrary. Space is a cleverly executed construct. —E.C.
