William Shakespeare wrote one of his most farcical works, The Comedy of Errors, early in his career, in 1594. Set in ancient Greece, the story follows two sets of identical twins—both separated at birth because of a shipwreck—and the antics that occur when a twin is inevitably, constantly, mistaken for a person they don’t know exists. After two decades apart, the twins are reunited. More chaos ensues. A new production of the mad show (Shakespeare’s shortest, clocking in at just under two hours) is on at Shakespeare’s Globe this summer. —Jensen Davis
