Frank Gehry, who died in 2025 at the age of 96, was a sculptor who worked in the discipline of architecture. One thinks of the crumpled chain-link of his Santa Monica house, the titanium curves of Guggenheim Bilbao, the billowing sails of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The Serralves Foundation in Porto, which has a particular connection to Gehry through his friendship with Álvaro Siza and their collaboration on the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, is now marking his centenary with an exhibition. It looks at 19 projects through eight chapters—from early cardboard furniture to unbuilt late dreams. —Elena Clavarino
