The Alana Collection: Masterpieces of Italian Painting

Dec 4, 2019 – Jan 20, 2020
158 Boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France

Alvaro Saieh, a Chilean businessman, and his wife, Ana Guzmán, put their first names together to make “Alana”—the title of a collection they built as one, its focus Gothic and Renaissance art. The Alana is one of the least known and most precious private collections in the world—until now. Approximately 75 pieces from the Alana, works by Italian masters, have traveled from America to the Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris. The artists include Lorenzo Monaco, Fra Angelico, Uccello, Lippi, Bellini, Carpaccio, Tintoretto, Veronese, Bronzino, Gentileschi, and more. —E.C.
