“Don’t you just love those long rainy afternoons in New Orleans when an hour isn’t just an hour,” says Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire, “but a little piece of eternity dropped into your hands—and who knows what to do with it?” Here’s what to do with it: Go to the 2022 Tennessee Williams & New Orleans Literary Festival! Taking course over five days, the festival isn’t just a celebration of one of America’s most important playwrights, it also celebrates reading, books, and the incredible range of culture native to New Orleans. Look forward to literary discussions, music, talks with rising young writers, cabaret, performances of Williams’s plays (of course), and cocktails inspired by his characters. —Sophie Kemp
