It’s returning to Broadway for the first time in 20 years, that gorgeous work of art complete with philosophical underpinnings, Our Town. Written by Thornton Wilder in 1938, the play brings viewers into the ordinary lives of people in the fictional American town of Grover’s Corners. But there is nothing ordinary about this revival. Its cast of 28 is an impressive collection of well-known actors, among them, Richard Thomas, Julie Halston, Katie Holmes, and Zoey Deutch. “It’s a good thing that my uncle’s play is back on Broadway,” said the playwright’s nephew, Tappan Wilder, “with its timely reminder that we all live together in our town.” Kenny Leon directs. —Jeanne Malle
