Online Viewing Rooms

“These are tumultuous and challenging times,” reads a Twitter announcement from Art Basel, “and we wish you the very best until we are able to meet again.” While the Swiss art fair scheduled for this coming September has been cancelled, an online edition is now filling the gap. It features 282 galleries, including Jack Shainman, Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, Pace, and many more. Much like the real thing, there are different categories: Galleries, Edition, Statements (highlighting emerging talent), and Feature (curated presentations of works by 20th- and 21st-century artists). Don’t miss the live podcasts, which shed light on the nuances of art, curation, and collection in this new virtual world. —E.C.
