One to One is a documentary by Kevin McDonald and Sam Rice-Edwards about John Lennon and Yoko Ono in the early 1970s. A multilayered portal into the lives of this monumental couple, we watch and hear Lennon and Ono as creators, as activists, as immigrants, and as parents against a turbulent political background. Focused on the lead-up to Lennon’s only full-length concert after leaving the Beatles—which the movie is named after—the documentary explores the 18 months the couple spent living in Greenwich Village. Brilliantly structured, it treats viewers to previously unrevealed archival materials, including recordings of their phone calls and home movies shot by Lennon. —Emine Gözde Sevim
