Brooklyn’s Nick Hakim has a voice like butter. He makes R&B by way of Maxwell and D’Angelo. Think songs that meander and get poetic, perhaps a little psychedelic. Hakim’s latest album COMETA (Spanish for “kite”), was named one of the best records of the year by NPR Music. It’s about love, about feeling like you’re floating, third eye all the way open. He’ll perform songs from the album and more at Brooklyn Steel in Williamsburg. —Sophie Kemp
