Did you know that the industry with the largest gender-based wage gap is the art world? One person particularly aware of that fact is Komal Shah, the tech star turned art collector. Shah has spent the past decade accumulating a museum-worthy collection of almost 300 pieces made by women and people of color. More than 70 of these artworks are now touring the country, beginning in New York. The lineup includes the most significant female artists of the past 80 years—among them, Judy Chicago, Joan Mitchell, Cecily Brown, and Sheila Hicks—and the exhibition is free. —Lucy Horowitz
