Ken Cook is an exceptional bronze foundryman. He studied casting at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1970, and then established a foundry in Gloucestershire, where he developed his own techniques and patinas. In the decades since, he has worked with a range of sculptors, including Ralph Brown, John Carter, James Castle, Lynn Chadwick, Ann Christopher, Robert Clatworthy, Elisabeth Frink, Stephanie Fuller, John Hoskin, Liliane Lijn, John Maine, Leonard McComb, Breon O’Casey and Alison Wilding. Many of these artists became lifelong friends. In this exhibition, Cook’s memories and experiences offer a new look at modern British sculpture, with Cook as a guiding force through it all. —Clara Molot
