The actress Katharine Hepburn, so lean, so angular, was a bluestocking Egon Schiele—the cheekbones like promontories, the hollows beneath, the strong jawline, the dare inherent in her carriage, her eyes. And oh how she wore clothes. Off screen Hepburn chose menswear—jackets and pants—but onstage and in films she wore confections by Walter Plunkett, Howard Greer, Valentina, Irene, Norman Hartnell, and many more. This exhibition includes costumes and clothes from over five decades. The calla lilies are in bloom again. —L.J.
