Jean Dufy & Gen Paul: 20th Century Masters

Oct 3 – Dec 1, 2020
165 Worth Ave, Palm Beach, FL 33480, United States

“I painted flowers, circuses, seascapes, the family garden—still lifes,” said the French artist Jean Dufy. He arrived in Paris after W.W. I, in 1920, where he found himself living in Montmartre, neighbor to Georges Braque. Dufy ended up staying 35 years, painting and repainting the views he adored. Gen Paul, on the other hand, was raised in a bohemian artistic community in Paris. He saw “everyone come and go.” In this exhibition, the poetic Dufy and the dynamic Paul are exhibited together. —E.C.
