Here’s a concentrated exhibition of paintings and works on paper that follows the arc of American Abstraction from its beginning in the 1930s, when American Abstract Artists (AAA) was founded in 1936, through the New York School of Abstract Expressionism and beyond. Among the artists in the show are Norman Bluhm, Ilya Bolotowsky, Helen Frankenthaler, Balcomb Greene, Grace Hartigan, Hans Hofmann, Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Jean Paul Riopelle, and Theodoros Stamos. —Laura Jacobs
