Jamie Wyeth might as well have paint running through his veins. He is a third-generation artist, after all, following his father, Andrew Wyeth, and his grandfather, N. C. Wyeth. Jamie was raised by artists and made sure to surround himself with them, too. He developed a close kinship with Andy Warhol. Indeed, you could read the 1976 exhibition “Andy Warhol and Jamie Wyeth Portraits of Each Other” as a rap-battle of sorts, one that substitutes imagery for rap “bars.” Now Wyeth revisits his old friend, pairing his portraits of Warhol with those of the acclaimed Russian dancer Rudolf Nureyev, another superstar of the 70s. —Carolina de Armas
