Time and place connect the lives of Cuban furniture designer Clara Porset, Mexican photographer Lola Álvarez Bravo, German artist Anni Albers, Japanese-American sculptor Ruth Asawa, American textile maker Cynthia Sargent, and American weaver Sheila Hicks. The time is the 1940s to the 70s, and the place is Mexico. This exhibition explores the booming art scene of post-revolution Mexico through six female modernists who lived and worked there. —J.V.
