Henry Moore’s magnificent bronzes, a fusion of figuration and abstraction, are world renowned. Far fewer people know of his delightfully small studies, however. No bigger than 12 inches, they were preparation for his looming works. Moore spent hours agonizing over small stones, pieces of wood, casting lead, and modeling clay to make these little figurines. Fifty sculptures from the 1920s to the 1980s—Moore in miniature—are on view in Bath. Charming! —Elena Clavarino
