The German artist Fabian Warnsing draws everywhere and everything, anticipating that he will later reach into his expanding archive of images and assemble a handful into a complete, layered work. Warnsing wants his paintings to be transparent, meaning he wants viewers to see his artistic process, which is not perfect but honest. He welcomes flaws, jagged edges, roughness in his renderings. This young artist was born in the 1990s and plays with both the possibilities and constraints of early video-game aesthetics, merging digital imagery with the human touch, allowing images to glitch. This is Warnsing’s first show in London. —Clara Molot
