The musical geographies of French composer and instrumentalist Eve Risser range from the strait air column of the classical flute and the cluttered cage of the prepared piano to the wide open, hypnotically shimmering spaces of her White Desert and Red Desert Orchestras. Here, the last named meshes with a buoyant Malian band led by singer and bolon player Nainy Diabate. Part of this riverside suburb’s Biennale de Jazz, the bill includes Finland’s Ali Rissanen Trio and a collaboration between French saxophonist Michel el Malam and American pianist Marc Copland. —E.E.
