Eternal Seasons

Apr 8 – May 31, 2021
G/F, 2 Ice House St, Central, Hong Kong

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” The seasons are an eternal subject for composers, poets, and painters. The browning leaves of autumn, the raw rush of spring, winter’s shades of gray. In an exhibition that focuses on the four seasons as expressed in art, masterpieces spanning 150 years are on display. The exhibition is in two parts: the first moves from Impressionism into the early 20th century (think Renoir, Monet, Gauguin, Munch, Picasso); the second will focus on postwar and contemporary art (Alexander Calder, Yayoi Kusama, Francesco Clemente, Alex Katz). Many of these works have never been to Asia before. —E.C.
