David Hockney is 85 and has been painting for 65 years, yet he’s never off trend. Take the drawings he created during lockdown. They were meant for a couple of close friends and they ended up gracing gallery walls around the world. Now he’s fiddling with large-scale projection and virtual reality for a new space called Lightroom, where soaring 36-foot ceilings and 28 projectors come together to showcase six decades of Hockney’s art.
