The 1981 comedy classic The Four Seasons—written and directed by Alan Alda, who also co-starred with Carol Burnett, Rita Moreno, Len Cariou, Sandy Dennis, Jack Weston, and Bess Armstrong—follows three middle-class married couples who vacation together every three months (hence the title.) When one of the couples divorces, it unsettles the others. And the husband’s revitalized sex life with a much younger girlfriend doesn’t help. On May 1, Netflix releases an eight-part series adapted by Tina Fey, who pulls the story into the present and updates the couples. She stars along with Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, and Will Forte. If you want to prep for the series, the Paris Theater is screening Alda’s movie on April 27, and Fey herself will be there. —Carolina de Armas
