Charlotte Perriand: The Modern Life

June 19 – Sept 5, 2021
224-238 Kensington High St, Kensington, London W8 6AG, UK

In 1920s Paris, fashionable taste in furniture tended toward organic materials and hand-carved finishing. The designs of young Charlotte Perriand—geometric, minimal, metal—set a new trend. This exhibition celebrates Perriand’s accomplishments—the chaise lounge, for instance—while replications of projects that joined furniture design with architecture and art catch Perriand’s collaborative spirit. —C.J.F.
