Pierre Dussart, the son of the photographer Ghislain “Jicky” Dussart (1926–1996), was recently sorting through his father’s things when he came across an old suitcase full of negatives. Dussart was Brigitte Bardot’s favorite photographer, and many of the negatives featured the actress in her villa in Saint-Tropez—hanging out by the pool, sipping champagne, surrounded by her cats and dogs. Most of the images had never been seen before. Pierre showed the photographs to Guy Pieters and his wife, Linda, who are Belgian art collectors, and they were astounded. This year, Bardot is turning 90. To celebrate her birthday, Dussart and the Pieters have mounted an exhibition of 80 photographs at the Pieters’ foundation. The town lighthouse will also be illuminated with pictures of the star. —Elena Clavarino
