Works by Louise Bourgeois, Yoko Ono, and Miles Greenberg come to Faurschou, once a 1920s taxi depot in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The exhibition revolves around the idea of the embrace as a form of closeness that can mean love, acceptance, oppression, solidarity. A gallery will be dedicated to each artist. Bourgeois is represented by a selection of her large sculptures, among them the 1963 bronze Fée Couturière (Fairy Dressmaker), which hangs from the ceiling like a petrified hornet’s nest. Ono’s space features installations, one including 100 wooden coffins, each containing a living tree. In the third gallery, Miles Greenberg presents a performance piece. Says Jens Faurschou, “We see these works expressing complexities and ambiguity of the human condition that hold meaning to us all.” —Clara Molot
