Ancient Chinese creation myths take the stage in four living tableaux by the entrancing Huang Ruo, a Chinese-born American who has served as composer-in-residence to Amsterdam’s formidable Concertgebouw. This time, he’s working not on the symphonic scale but with a chamber ensemble made up of 12 singing voices plus two percussionists from the Choir of Trinity Wall Street, and a team of the city’s most gifted puppeteers. The visuals are from the wizardly hands of Basil Twist, puppeteer and MacArthur genius, operating here on the grand scale. —Matthew Gurewitsch
