Ancient Chinese creation myths fill the stage in four living tableaux by the entrancing Huang Ruo, a Chinese-born composer whose symphonic and theatrical music is gaining ever-wider exposure and acclaim. Here, he’s working with a chamber ensemble of a dozen singing voices plus percussion. The visuals are from the wizardly hands of Basil Twist, puppeteer and MacArthur Fellow, who has no trouble showing the universe in a grain of sand, as the circumstances for this traveling show require. Ars Nova Copenhagen has charge of the vocals. —Matthew Gurewitsch
