The Danish author Karen Blixen was better known as Isak Dinesen, until the 1985 film adaption of her memoir, Out of Africa, was released. Now she’s the subject of a full-length ballet, Blixen, which follows her from childhood to marriage to Africa, and from dashing Denys Finch Hatton to fame in old age. Her mantra: “All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story or tell a story about them.” The score is shaped from music by Debussy, and the choreographer is Gregory Dean. —L.J.
