Bitter Wheat

June 7 – Sept 14, 2019
2 Charing Cross Rd, Charing Cross, London WC2H 0HH, UK

We missed John Malkovich as a Polanski-esque director in Louis C.K’s I Love You, Daddy. But in another winking roman-à-clef of sorts, Malkovich plays a Hollywood mogul with a striking resemblance to Harvey Weinstein. David Mamet’s latest play was controversial even before it opened. Was he really interested in the Weinstein scandal? Or was this an easy reach for hot box office? Critics loath Bitter Wheat. But if you’re a completist and need to see all of Mamet’s plays, here it is. —C.J.F.
