Bernard-Henri Lévy: The Erasure of Israel

Bernard-Henri Lévy and Ukrainian troops in his documentary Slava Ukraine.

September 11, 2024
1 E 65th St, New York, NY 10065, United States

Bernard-Henri Lévy does not hold himself aloof. Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in 2022, the French Jewish philosopher has reported from the frontlines, producing three documentaries on the war over the past three years. And when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, Lévy was compelled to respond. On October 8, he traveled to Israel to report on the massacre and stand in defense of the Jewish people. The result of this engagement is his 48th book, Israel Alone, which examines global reaction to the attacks, delves into the history of anti-Semitism, and assesses the dangers posed by the war in Gaza. Lévy debuts the book with public discussions in New York City and Los Angeles. —Jeanne Malle
