Leaving home and coming back can be as simple as spreading your wings, flying, and then deciding your trip around the sun has come to an end. It can also be politically charged, involuntary. The venerable Anthology Film Archives is hosting a series of films about homecoming and leaving home, works that come at the subject from many angles. Look forward to showings from Alfred Hitchcock, who left England for the U.S. for professional reasons, as well as Luis Buñuel, who left Spain for the U.S. and Mexico following Fascist upheaval during W.W. II. —Sophie Kemp
