There’s a lot going on in British artist Annie Morris’s vibrant work. Take her “stack sculptures,” on display at the Timothy Taylor gallery. These plaster spheres drenched in rich raw pigments, magically balancing on top of each other, have been likened to a 3-D artist’s palette. Morris uses their dry, freshly-painted appearance to evoke childbirth and the resulting fragility of both newborns and their mothers. Also on display are Morris’s new loose-hanging tapestries. —J.V.
