All Right. Good Night.

A Malaysia Airlines flight taking off.

Until Sept 27
566 LaGuardia Pl, New York, NY 10012

On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 vanished mid-flight with 239 people on board. Around the same time, Helhard Haug, co-founder of the Berlin-based experimental company Rimini Protokoll, began losing her father to dementia. “It made sense somehow that these forms of not-knowing, of not being able to rely anymore on what you get as information, felt connected,” says Haug, who weaves both narratives into All right. Good night. “How do we make the missing tangible?” she asks, and “what remains when presence disappears?” Told in parallel with little spoken dialogue, the stories unfold through recorded voices, words projected onto a screen, and live music (the score is by Barbara Morgenstern and the Zafraan Ensemble). Following a critically acclaimed 2023 run in the U.K., the show has transferred to NYU Skirball for three days as part of the Crossing The Line Festival. —Jeanne Malle
