“This was a year of travel and change,” the artist Alan Prazniak says of his 2020, “so I had the idea to use those experiences to make a picture album.” The pictures are oil on canvas, mostly landscapes (often moonlit) from around the world. They are painted with a loose hand, and the use of color is romantic, captivating. Soft shades of canary, deep purple, and mesmerizing blue make for powerful skies. —E.C.
