Streaming on PBS

In 2022, the literary and cultural historian Lucy Worsley published Agatha Christie: An Elusive Woman, a biography of one of Britain’s most celebrated authors. Worsley continues to uncover Dame Agatha Christie’s story with this three-part television series on the “Mystery Queen.” Christie, who died in 1970, wrote 75 novels as well as several plays and short stories; her book sales rival those of Shakespeare and the Bible. In a gripping three hours, Worsley travels through England and then on to Iraq, Egypt, and Turkey, zeroing in on key moments in the novelist’s life. She explores topics that range from family secrets and childhood trauma to marital struggles, love affairs, and the personal subtext within her intricate plots. —Jeanne Malle

This three-part series premieres Sundays at 8:00–9:00 P.M. E.T. on PBS
