A One-Take Journey Through Russia's Iconic Hermitage Museum

May 1, 2020 – July 31, 2021
Palace Square, 2, Sankt-Peterburg, Russia, 190000

Founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia, St. Petersburg’s Hermitage is the second largest museum in the world (the Louvre is the largest). Its six buildings house an unbelievable three million pieces in 120 galleries, a viewing experience not for the faint of heart. Visiting scholars and historians have worn out countless pairs of shoes on these marble floors. Given the times, this five-hour video tour of the Hermitage, now on Youtube, has found its moment. You’ll travel through 45 galleries and 588 masterpieces, past Rembrandt’s famed work in the New Hermitage, across the stage of a theater, and up the imperial staircase of the Winter Palace. —E.C.
