Verrocchio: Sculptor and Painter of Renaissance Florence

Sept 15, 2019 – Jan 12, 2020
Constitution Ave NW, Washington, DC 20565, USA

Before Leonardo da Vinci, Pietro Perugino, and Sandro Botticelli, there was their teacher, Andrea del Verrocchio. An innovative painter and sculptor, he has received far less attention from art historians than his illustrious pupils. The first-ever U.S. exhibition to focus solely on Verrocchio invites viewers to experience 50 of his masterpieces across media. —J.V.
